The Internal Audit Department provides independent, objective assurance and support designed to add value and improve the Company’s operations and systems of internal controls. The department assists the Company with accomplishing its objectives by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, controls, and governance processes.
North Star Mutual Insurance Company is looking for applicants for our summer 2025 Internal Audit internship. Students will have the opportunity to assist with various aspects of audit activities, including process and control documentation, evidence collection, and testing in our Internal Audit department. Other duties/projects may be assigned.
Individuals who possess excellent writing proficiency, have sound analytical skills, interact well with others, are proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word, and have the ability to comprehend business documents are encouraged to apply. Individuals may be exposed to confidential Company information and must be able to maintain that throughout and following their experience at North Star.
The pursuit of an Associates or Bachelor’s degree in business, math, finance or a related field is preferred for this internship. Preference will be given to students enrolled in the North Star Mutual School of Business at Southwest Minnesota State University.
Compensation: $18.00 per hour.
