On Thursday, March 3 the Southwest Minnesota Orchestra will be performing two concerts for children ? 9:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. The orchestra will perform both concerts at the Schwan's Community Center for the Performing Arts, Marshall High School, 400 Tiger Drive, Marshall, MN. Tickets for the morning concert at $1.00. Tickets for the evening concert are $9.00 for adults and $6.00 for SMSU students/children. Tickets are available at the door for the evening concert.
Limited seating is available at the morning concert, so please call 337-0553 to check on the availability of tickets. This concert is being held during the school day for area school children in grades 3-4 and home-school families. The general public may purchase tickets by calling the number listed above.
The SMO and Friends of the Orchestra are thrilled to welcome the parents, students and staff for its third year of youth concerts. The program includes Paul Tripp and George Kleinsinger?s Tubby the Tuba, Dr. Peter Lothringer?s Painting by Numbers and W. A. Mozart?s Symphony No. 40. Minneota band director, John Voit, will be the featured soloist for Tubby the Tuba, and Dr. Jan Loft of SMSU will narrate.
