Marshall Municipal Band Concerts

Description

The Marshall Municipal Band Concert Season will start at the Liberty Park Band Shell on June 6, at 7:30 pm.  They will continue every Wednesday at that location through July 18.  The only exception to that will be the July 4th Concert which will be moved to Independence Park, also at 7:30 pm.  The concerts are free, there are benches at Liberty Park, or bring your own chairs and/or blankets.  Robert Meffert will conduct the 45 member ensemble, and the Kid's March will continue to be a feature along with the usual show tune medleys, marches, popular songs, and program selections.  There will be featured guests as they are available.  Already scheduled are the Southwest Minnesota Men's Chorus (formerly Marshall Area Men's Chorus) on June 6, and the "Music Man" (Summer Musical Troupe) on June 27.  Also in the works is an "open to the public" rehearsal of the Band scheduled for June 19 at the Marshall Middle School in conjunction with the Dakota Bicycle Tour stopover in Marshall.  Watch for particulars on that event.  Other events are being planned.  Come and enjoy a long-standing summer musical tradition in Marshall.
