Description
Tyler George
We are so excited to welcome the Minnesota grown American Curler Olympic Gold Medalist Tyler George right here in Marshall!
Tyler George is a retired curler that lives in Duluth, MN. He was part of the 2018 USA men’s Olympic team in PyeongChang, South Korea that won the first ever gold medal for the USA for any discipline of curling. Tyler also won bronze at the 2016 World Men’s Championships and bronze at the 2001 World Junior Men’s Championships, as well as three USA Men’s National Championships (2010, 2015, and 2017). His USA men’s teams have been a part of two Continental Cup winning squads, in 2016 and 2018.
Tyler will touch on four topics that are very relevant to his career as an athlete, and also extremely important for businesses to achieve success.
Team Work
Teamwork in curling and business involves effective communication, role clarity, strategic thinking, trust, adaptability, and a shared commitment to achieving common goals. Understanding and applying these principles can lead to success in both domains.
Fear of Failure and Success
The fear of failure and success is a common challenge in both curling and business. Recognizing and addressing these fears is essential for personal and team growth, resilience, and continued success in the face of challenges and achievements.
Resilience
Teams sometimes face setbacks but must remain focused on their ultimate goal. Similarly, in business, teams encounter challenges, and problem solving is vital for overcoming obstacles and persevering.
Consistency
Consistency is about maintaining a high level of performance, adhering to established processes, and delivering reliability to customers, clients, or fans. It fosters trust, builds a strong reputation, and supports long-term success. However, this consistency should be balanced with the ability to adapt and innovate as needed to remain competitive in ever-changing environments.
