We are seeking a proactive and skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team in Southwest Minnesota. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of repair, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance tasks to keep our facilities running smoothly. Duties
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on facilities equipment, including HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical systems, and building interior components.
- Carry out basic carpentry, painting (including residential painting), and general facilities maintenance tasks to uphold building standards.
- Maintain plumbing systems through basic repairs and leak detection.
- Use our property management software to document work orders, track maintenance activities, and create inspection reports.
- Lead or assist with maintenance painting projects and interior building repairs to enhance facility appearance.
- Operate hand tools such as drills, saws, wrenches, and specialized electrical equipment for various repair tasks.
- Perform general landscaping upkeep such as spraying, weeding and snow removal as needed.
- Follow safety protocols during all maintenance activities while communicating effectively with team members and customers when necessary.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in facilities maintenance or related roles with strong mechanical knowledge.
- Hands-on experience with HVAC and plumbing system maintenance is highly desirable.
- Ability to operate hand and power tools efficiently.
- Former use of software for work order management is a plus.
- Strong understanding of building interior maintenance including carpentry, painting (residential), drywall repair, basic carpentry skills and general facilities upkeep.
- Excellent communication skills in English for clear documentation and customer service interactions.
- Ability to read schematics and technical manuals accurately for troubleshooting purposes.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced environments.
- Valid driver’s license required; willingness to participate in on-call or emergency repairs as needed.
