Description
When Opportunity Knocks, Open the Door!
Sometimes you have to build the door first in order for opportunity to knock. Join Marcy as she talks about her professional journey, understanding one’s opportunities and the power of ‘why not?!’

Marcy Heemeyer currently serves as the Vice President of Human Resources for North Star Mutual Insurance Company in Cottonwood. She has previous experience in both the for-profit and non-profit sectors which brings a unique perspective to her work. Immediately prior to her role at North Star, she served as the President & CEO of the United Way of Southwest Minnesota. In that position, Heemeyer sat on several state and national boards, as well as, an international conference planning committee. In her spare time, she continues to consult with several area non-profits on a variety of topics. In addition to serving as an Ambassador for Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Upper Midwest, she is an at-large member of the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Commission for the City of Marshall and enjoys volunteering for other local causes. Heemeyer is a proud alumni of South Dakota State University (Go JACKS!) and resides in Marshall with her husband Adam and son, Cash.
