Relay for Life of Lyon County

Description

Relay for Life is the largest one day fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. All night, you are invited to walk the luminaria track featuring the names of those who have fought cancer. Enjoy items from the following vendors: Squeeze the Stuffins, Scotty Biggs BBQ, Chicken Connection, & Sweet Kettle Madness. Brau Brothers will be providing free beer & soda samples. We will also have a bouncy house and silent auction.
From 5:00 until 7:00 pm, we will have Survivor registration and a Chili Cook-off. If you would like to submit chili for the cook-off, please contact Chanda Bossuyt at 507-531-0452. Push Play Entertainment will provide live trivia beginning at 5:30.
Our Opening Ceremony at 7:00 will be livestreamed by Studio 1. The ceremony will feature an opening prayer led by Father Tony Stubeda and speeches by honorary survivors Paul Blanchard and Amy Munson. There will be a live auction by Deutz Auctioneers featuring: a homemade Relay t-shirt quilt made by Lori Head; a meat bundle with Bossuyt beef, Wichmann pork, and TruShrimp shrimp, in a cooler donated by Runnings; 3 Minnesota Vikings tickets to the Monday, October 23 game against the 49ers; and a Mystery Box.
We will also have words from our major sponsors, and the survivor and caregiver lap with music by Trina Thomas.
From 8:00 until 9:00 pm, there will be music by Trina Thomas. Get in your final bids for the silent auction, which will close at 9:00 pm.
At dusk we will have our Closing Ceremony & Candlelit Lap. You are welcome to continue to walk the track once it is lit for the evening!
