Job Summary

  • Responsible to provide clerical/reception support for clinical care of patients on designated unit.
  • Primarily works in the inpatient nursing departments of Med/Surg and Women's Center, but will cross-train to the Emergency Department
  • Performs blood glucose test, accurately and timely, including point-of-care (POC) documentation for defined quality controls.
  • Maintains accurate and concise records, documenting promptly all pertinent information in the patient’s EMR.
  • Responsible for preparation of rooms for admissions, return from surgery/transfers, and transportation of patients throughout the facility.
  • Provides patients with dietary needs such as calling for meal selection; tray set-up and assistance with feeding.
  • Provides ADLs for patients, including bed linen changes and maintaining clean, orderly patient rooms.
  • A sincere desire to provide the highest quality of care for patients.
  • The ability to provide care in a fast-paced environment while collaborating with your team.

Licensure/Certification/Registration

  • Must be 16 years of age.
  • BLS certifications required within 90 days of hire.
  • MN CNA and CPI certification required within 6 months of hire.

Work Schedule

  • PRN, as needed, casual requirements per department policy
    • 7:00am-7:30pm; 7:00pm-7:30am
    • 4 shifts every 6 weeks, two must be weekend shifts
    • One summer and one winter holiday
    • Occasional call time

Pay

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

  • $18.25 - $24.00 per hour
