Marshall has a Class A Wastewater Facility that is continually upgraded with new equipment and technologies to meet stringent environmental standards. This position offers full-time employment, a competitive wage and benefit package, paid training, and advancement opportunities.
This full-time position operates and maintains the Wastewater Treatment Facility, in accordance with the Environmental Protection Agency and Minnesota Pollution Control Agency Permit requirements, at its most optimum range on a day shift with a rotating schedule. This position also performs preventive maintenance and repairs on the related wastewater treatment equipment and vehicles to achieve maximum service life of the equipment.
Pay range: $24.56 - $35.15 per hour DOQ/E
PLANT OPERATOR I
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
- Maintain a valid driver’s license.
- One (1) year experience in mechanical maintenance.
- Must maintain a 30 minute travel/response time while obeying all traffic laws and speed limits to the Wastewater Treatment Facility located at 600 Erie Avenue while in stand-by status.
Desirable qualifications:
- Work experience in construction or with pumps and electric control panels is preferred.
- Coursework in wastewater technology, biology, or related courses is preferred.
PLANT OPERATOR II
Minimum qualifications:
Candidate must meet the minimum qualifications of a Plant Operator I AND the following to qualify as a Plant Operator II:
- Five (5) years’ experience in mechanical maintenance.
- Five (5) years’ experience in wastewater treatment or related field.
- Valid State of Minnesota Class C Wastewater Operator Certification
