Job Description

This position exists to:

  • Contribute to the workflow of placements by importing placements in the Student Learning and Licensure system (SLL) after they are secured.

  • Communicate respectfully and professionally with students, staff, School of Education faculty, cooperating teachers, and university supervisors.

  • Provide administrative/clerical support to the Office of Placement and Licensure, including, but not limited to, processing expense reports and spend authorizations, processing stipends, maintaining office supplies, and assisting with the preparation of materials and food for seminars.

  • Process contracts with partnering schools and keep accurate records.

  • Maintain confidential student online files.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Word processing and spreadsheet skills sufficient to use software such as Microsoft Word and Excel to create, format, and edit a variety of documents.

  • Skill in customer service sufficient to perform the duties with politeness, respect, and interest in positive problem solving.

  • Organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a setting where supervision is not constant.

  • Ability to adhere to rules and regulations.

  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and explain complex processes.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of private information.

  • Ability to use and learn technology with efficiency.

 

Preferred Qualification 

  • Knowledge of Statewide Record System (ISRS) used by all MnSCU institutions for human resources, purchasing, and creating reports.

  • Knowledge of Perceptive Content, Work Day and SLL systems.

  • Knowledge of the rules and regulations from the MN Department of Education in order to insure compliance will all Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board (PELSB) requirements.

  • Knowledge of current program procedures and policies for SMSU clinical experiences and the Office of Placement and Licensure.

  • Knowledgeable and able to answer questions about the MN Tiered Licensure System.
