Job Summary:
As a Ruminant Sales Manager, you will be responsible for the management of Ralco’s Ruminant sales account managers, directing activities to achieve the annual gross profit and growth objectives for the ruminant species group. You will work closely with the ruminant marketing and technical leads to build and execute the ruminant P&L growth plan. It is the Ruminant Sales Manager’s responsibility to guide and support account managers and help coordinate efficient use of company resources, such as species Product Specialist and Technical support.
You must be able to communicate well with a broader team. You will work with technical, product management, regulatory, operations, finance, and customer service to develop opportunities and meet the customers' needs. You must also work well with the business unit managers to define target accounts and define goals and approaches for these accounts. Manage Your Team

Work with the ruminant sales team to meet sales goals and budget numbers for Ruminant book of business

Assist in the coordination of company resources and account teams for the members of the ruminant sales team

Coach the sales team to ensure that account plans are created, maintained, and communicated for all Ruminant customers

Identify training opportunities and develop programs to grow the knowledge and expertise of the sales team in order to maximize sales
-
Work with members of the ruminant sales team to target areas for individual development

Ensure sales team members are proficient in the use of company-provided sales and reporting tools
-
Mentor the sales team, promoting a culture of excellence, accountability, trust and continuous improvement
-
Manage Your Accounts
-
Seek to understand the needs of the customer, in turn, select Ralco products and services to satisfy those needs
-
Increase product penetration and sales volume with existing accounts
-
Establish appropriate relationships with distributor outside sales representatives, customers and their key personnel
-
Advise customers on policies, operating procedures, and incentives to insure functional effectiveness of business
-
Review and utilize sales data and analysis in pre and post call planning
-
Demonstrate competency in Ralco animal health programs and products
-
Detail and/or demonstrate new products for distributors and end users

Communicate well with other areas of the business to ensure you are working within established programs, pricing, and distribution

Maintain vehicle in a professional manner.

Participate in conference calls and meetings as requested

Participate at trade association meetings and shows to promote Ralco products and services

Resolve customer complaints regarding sales and service

Work with marketing and technology to plan effective communication to customers and partners

Job Requirements:
Education: MS or BS degree in Ruminant Nutrition, a related field, or similar experience.
Experience: 5+ years of responsibility in a sales or marketing role, preferred with leadership responsibilities
General: Satisfactorily complete introductory period per company policy.
Physical: The following activities are required as needed to perform the job function; lifting, driving, bending, climbing, carrying, and twisting. Confined space entry is not a required job function. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the key work duties.
Travel: The position requires travel to customer and non-customer sites in and out of the territory.
Pay & Benefits:

Starting Wage: $110,000 - $155,000

Starting Wage Range includes Salary plus variable pay
