Job Title: Purchasing Agent

Carlson & Stewart Refrigeration is looking to add to our purchasing team. The Purchasing Agent supports the Operations Team by sourcing and procuring materials and services essential for company operations. This role collaborates with Project Managers, Service Managers, Coordinators, Technicians, and the Engineering/Estimating Department to ensure timely and cost-effective purchasing. This position also provides retail customer service by sourcing parts and coordinating shipments.
Responsibilities:
- Reconcile invoices and credit card transactions accurately
- Handle pricing requests, purchase orders, and daily purchasing tasks
- Communicate with vendors on quotes, orders, shipments, and confirm deliveries
- Resolve payment inquiries and discrepancies promptly
- Maintain and update inventory spreadsheets across multiple locations
- Assist Project Managers with subcontract packages in Foundation software
- Support Estimators by tracking costs, variances, and comparisons
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to learn and follow purchasing policies and procedures
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- High attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective time management and ability to meet deadlines
Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
- Experience with purchasing software
- Familiarity with inventory management systems
- Knowledge of industry-specific materials and services
