Director - Laboratory 
We invite you to join Avera Marshall's multidisciplinary Laboratory team, as full-time Director of our Laboratory Department.  

The Director will serve as a leader within the solid Laboratory Department.  Promote a professional practice environment that enables the multidisciplinary team members to continuously provide patient care excellence while enhancing the patient experience and staff relations. 
 
Additional Responsibilities: 
  • Manages the operations of the Laboratory Department to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Leads process and performance improvement
  • Selects, retains and develops high performing staff
  • Contributes to a strong patient-focused and team-based culture
  • Is a member of the facility's leadership team and participates in the Avera System's Laboratory Service Line
  • Serves as the regional laboratory director, providing oversight to lab managers in the Avera Marshall Region.

Qualifications and Requirements: 
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in Medical Laboratory Science (MLS) preferred. 
  • Four years related experience and/or training preferred (or equivalent combination of education & experience)
  • Previous managerial and financial management experience preferred
  • Certified as a Medical Technologist (ASCP), Clinical Laboratory Scientist (NCA), or Clinical Laboratory Supervisor (NCA) is required within 1 year of hire.
