Lyon County Mechanic

Lyon County is hiring a full time Mechanic. Position purpose is to perform maintenance and repair services to Lyon County vehicles and equipment. Under the general supervision of the Highway Maintenance Supervisor, the Mechanic is responsible for performing preventative maintenance; repairs; rebuilding components; providing field service; and performing additional tasks as assigned. Employee may be required to work additional hours as necessary, including early mornings and weekends. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Two year vocational/technical diploma in Heavy Repair, Diesel Mechanics, or related field. Minimum of five years experience in heavy equipment maintenance, mechanical repair or related field; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position.  Must possess a Class "A" CDL upon hire, possess or obtain a tanker endorsement, a Commercial Motor Vehicle Inspector certificate, and obtain CPR/First Aid certification within six (6) months of hire. Position is overtime eligible with a salary range of $26.72-$37.40 and offers a full benefit package. Position open until filled.
