The Customer Relations Representative receives requests for quotes, orders, and lead times from customers and responds accordingly.  He or she responds to customer questions, complaints, and inquiries, providing a high level of customer service.  He or she provides quotes on standard items, writes orders, and relays pertinent order information to customers.  This position coordinates with other departments in handling purchase orders and providing service to customers.

  1. Achieves and maintains positive rapport with customers and continuously works to give them the best possible service.
  2. Updates and places customer orders, upselling where possible.
  3. Ensures correct codes are used for retrieving and inputting all sales information.
  4. Follows up with customers on order inquiries and transfers all customer calls to the appropriate staff.  Continues to follow up on customer inquiries that are not immediately resolved ensuring satisfactory resolution.
  5. Identifies, researches, and resolves customer issues such as improper billing, misapplied payments, etc., using the computer system.
  6. Checks with accounting and verifies credit status on all customer rush orders.
  7. Works with the Sales Manager to recommend process improvements.
  8. Maintains computer files of active orders and posts activity such as change notices, scheduling changes, partial shipments and credit changes.
  9. Routinely covers front desk as needed.
  10. Clerical duties as assigned
  11. Presence in the workplace is an essential function of this job.
