DESCRIPTION:Star Watch programs at local state parks feature Mike Lynch Learn the basics of stargazing\, astronomy and lore of constellations during Star Watch programs at Camden State Park on Friday\, September 8th and Lake Shetek State Park on Saturday\, September 2nd. Both programs begin at 8:30 p.m.\n\n\n\nWCCO-AM radio meteorologist Mike Lynch will lead the sessions. Lynch has taught thousands of astronomy classes since 1973. He uses colorful stories and large reflecting telescopes to connect his students to the stars. Star Watch programs are appropriate for children and adults. Participants will receive a handout package with user-friendly star maps and constellation charts\, websites\, a telescope-buying guide and more. Dress for the weather and consider bringing insect repellant. There is no charge for these programs\, but vehicles entering the park are required to have a permit ($7 daily or $35 year-round)\, which can be purchased at the park.\n\n\n\nThe Lake Shetek State Park program will be held in the Sunrise Campground East Picnic Shelter building. The park is located north of Currie on County Road 38.
