Social from 5:30-6:00 and a program from 6:00-6:30 followed by questions. A display of the SMSU students' work will be on the 2nd floor of the museum through the summer. The program is free will donation and bars\, cookies\, and refreshments will be served. \n\n \n\nSMSU professor\, Dr. Kerry Livingston\, worked with two of her classes in fall 2015 to do a very large research project in which the students did 49 face-to-face interviews with local immigrants (people who had moved to Marshall\, MN within the last 30 years\, and mostly people who were new immigrants- who moved here within the last 10 years). Participants were asked about their experiences before and after migrating to the U.S. The digitally recorded interviews were transcribed\, and the most compelling parts of each story were used to create a narrative profile. The students then did some analysis and thematic coding to identify common themes that emerged from the interviews.
